Muntinlupa City continues to record a decreasing trend in the number of weekly new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases
Based on data from the Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO), the city recorded 75 new COVID-19 cases in one week from Feb. 8 to 14, or 11 new cases per day, with confirmed cases slightly increasing from 39,588 to 39,663.
The total is a 74-percent decrease from 283 new COVID-19 cases recorded from Feb. 1 to 7, or a daily average of 40 cases, with confirmed cases rising from 39,262 to 39,545 during the one-week period.
The CHO also tallied 144 new recoveries from Feb. 8 to 14, and 518 from Feb. 1 to 7 for a total of 662 during the first weeks of the month. There were also two deaths from Feb. 8 to 14, compared to seven from Feb. 1 to 17.
As of Feb. 15, Muntinlupa has only 76 active COVID-19 cases including 22 new cases, nine recoveries and zero deaths out of 39,685 confirmed cases, 39,000 recoveries and 609 deaths since 2020.
In a presentation, the Department of Health (DOH) disclosed that the average daily cases from Feb. 8 to 14 stood at 3,521, or 56 percent lower compared to 8,069 average daily cases from Feb. 1 to 7.
The DOH has classified the National Capital Region (NCR) as low risk. It said as of Feb. 14, the NCR has 22,286 active COVID-19 cases.
NCR’s moving seven-day growth rate from Feb. 1 to 14 decreased by 55 percent. The region’s moving two-week growth rate decreased by 83 percent from Jan. 18-31 to Feb. 1-14.
As of Feb. 13, NCR had bed utilization of 26.28 percent, mechanical ventilator utilization of 17 percent and intensive care unit (ICU) utilization of 31 percent.
