Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente reminded airline companies not to bring unvaccinated foreign nationals into the country.
Morente pointed out that it is the responsibility of airliners to board only eligible aliens as mandated by a resolution issued recently by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
Currently, the country admits only fully vaccinated foreigners, subject to the presentation of required documents.
BI port operations chief Carlos Capulong said it is imperative that airlines are complaint with this requirement as they are solely responsible if their customers are denied entry to the country.
Foreign nationals who are ineligible for entry are excluded and sent back immediately to the next available flight to their port of origin.
