LOOK: Rihanna is redefining maternity style

Only she can do it

Two weeks after she broke the internet with her pregnancy announcement, Rihanna is definitely making a case for unconventional styling for pregnant women. Just look at her baby announcement, no nude photo shoot featuring her bump, just a casual day on the street with her beau, rapper A$AP, wearing a hot pink Chanel puffer, acid wash jeans, chain belt, and loads of jewels adorning her belly. Lucky for us, it looks like more out-of-the-box maternity style is coming our way.

In an interview with People, the 33-year-old fashion and beauty mogul shared how “challenging” and “fun” pregnancy fashion is. “I'm enjoying not having to worry about covering up my tummy," she said. "If I feel a little chubby, it's like, whatever! It's a baby!"

Among her latest bare belly looks was an all-black ensemble featuring a lace-up Jean Paul Gaultier cardigan, styled with a Carhartt jacket, Attico ribbed leggings, Balenciaga shades, and Jimmy Choo pumps finishing the look.

Channeling 2000s style, she was also spotted wearing a multi faux fur coat, underneath it is a brown crop top. Completing the ensemble is a pair of low-rise jeans, snakeskin heels, and a camo trucker hat. Yes, only Rihanna can pull that off.

Taking this fashion game to another level is her first red carpet appearance as a pregnant woman at a Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin event in LA. She donned a green halter top from Attico’s 2022 spring collection with an ombre silver and pink pants. Adding to the sparkles were jewelry pieces from Chopard and Messika.

“I’m trying to enjoy it as much as I could. And fashion is one of my favorite things, so, you know, we’re defying what it even means to be pregnant and maternal," the Grammy-winning artist told ET report. “It can get uncomfortable at times and so you can dress the part and pretend.”

We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing next.
