Robredo’s ‘Pink Sunday’ rally is Twitter’s top trending topic in PH, top 3 worldwide


Presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo’s grand rally at the Quezon Memorial Circle, tagged as “Pink Sunday,” has trended number one on Twitter Philippines and top three worldwide with more than 75,700 tweets as of posting time.

The words QC Circle has also trended with 25,400 tweets.

Robredo and her slate on Sunday, Feb. 13, drew huge crowds in Quezon City that it took her and the campaign team one hour to cover the normally seven-minute drive from the Quezon City Hall to the Memorial Circle.

Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan, tweeted.

“Happy pink sunday everyone, at QC Circle! (pink ribbon) #PinkSunday #AngatBuhayLahat,” added (@insidejer). He also posted a drone shot photo of the crowd inside the Memorial Circle.

“I have never been as Enthusiastic as this in my entire life. Thank you for the inspiration VP @lenirobredo #PinkSunday,” Lester Garcia (@JLesterG) wrote.

“Crowd of pink in the QC circle. This is not a 19% as shown in the survey. I am confident that Leni is gaining a momentum and by May she will overtake Marcos Jr. #PinkSunday,” John Logronio (@JohnLogronio2) posted.

“I think this needs to be emphasized: Kakampinks left the QC Circle with little to no trash and the monoblock chairs gathered. That's what you get when the candidate you follow is a role model herself. #PinkSunday,” wrote Janpee (@janpee_).

“Born and raised in QC, my heart beats for Leni! My husband flew all the way from Surigao to attend the QC circle rally. Happy Va-LEN-tines na din kakampinks PinkSunday,” Dmiranda (@MDRMiranda75).

Thousands of supporters from Quezon City and nearby provinces attended the “Pink Sunday” grand rally, which Robredo said gave them the confidence and strength despite the difficulty of the campaign.

The presidential candidate acknowledged what she estimated to be 20,000 supporters who gathered there to show their support.

But according to the Quezon City Police District, about 7,000 people gathered during the rally of the Leni-Kiko ticket.
