Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party chairperson and vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio topped the Laylo Research Voter Preference for Vice President poll conducted from Jan. 10 to Jan. 26.
In the survey which saw the participation of around 15,450 likely voters, Duterte-Carpio was the vice presidential bet of around 60 percent of all the participating voters.
Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III ranked second place showing he was the preferred choice of 19 percent of all the participating voters; while Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan placed third at 9 percent, and Doctor Willie Ong at fourth with 5 percent voter preference.
The Davao City Mayor was the preference of around 59 percent of urban-based voters and 61 percent of rural-based voters.
She was also the top bet for the five socioeconomic classes divided as ABC, D, and E, netting 65 percent of the ABC (P20,000 to P100,000 and above monthly income) group votes, 59 percent of the D (P10,000 to P20,000 monthly income) group votes, and 61 percent of the E (less than P10,000 monthly income) group votes.
Among the three participating age groups: 18 to 34; 35 to 54; and 55+, Duterte-Carpio scored 63 percent, 60 percent, and 57 percent for the three groups respectively.
Duterte-Carpio also led the poll’s gender demographic, garnering 62 percent of all male votes and 59 percent of all female votes.
In terms of net trust rating nationwide, Duterte-Carpio also led the board among other vice presidential candidates at +56, with Sotto scoring +18, Ong scoring -10, Pangilinan at -22, and House Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza at -42.
Duterte-Carpio is running for the vice presidential seat in the 2022 elections alongside her UniTeam presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.
