Mayor Isko open to lowering NCR to Alert Level 1

Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso said on Sunday, Feb. 13, that he is open to the possibility of lowering restrictions in the National Capital Region (NCR) to Alert Level 1.
When asked on his take on lowering NCR to alert level 1, he said that the Manila City is open to the possibility because the people already need to open their businesses.
"Puwede naman, bakit hindi? Kung sinasabi ng siyentipiko, we are positioning our city na talagang kailangan hangga't maaari magbukas na tayo ng negosyo, magluwag luwag na tayo dahil marami nang nahihirapang taong bayan na nawalan ng trabaho, kailangan na makapaghanap buhay ang tao, kailangan makapamuhay na tayo ng normal (Yes, why not? If our experts say so, we are positioning our city that we really need to open the businesses, we need to be more open because many of our fellow countrymen are already losing jobs, the people need to work, we need to live normally again), Domagoso said.
The 47-year-old presidential csndidate also wanted to assure the public that the city government is prepared to provide anti-viral medicines that will help the people to survive the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection.
"'Yung ating mga hospital equipment dapat available, especially 'yung ating pulmonary equipment tapos hangga't maari ay mapanatili natin 'yung dagdag na proteksyon sa ating mga doktor at nurses para nang sa ganun hindi mabawasan ang kakayanan ng estado o ng mga ospital na yakapin 'yung mga pasyenteng nanganganib dahil sa impeksyon ng COVID-19 (Our hospital equipments should be available, especially the pulmonary equipment and as much as possible we maintain the protection for our doctors and nurses so that the state and hospitals can embrace the patients infected by COVID-19)," he said.
The Manila mayor reiterated that he was in favor and ready to place the city under Alert Level 1.
“Well as far as NCR and Manila is concerned, for so many days now mababa ang infection so any opportunity na makakapagpagaan sa tao, sa buhay ng tao, I’m for it, I’m going to support it 100 percent (Well as far as NCR and Manila is concerned, for so many days COVID-19 cases have decreased so I fully support any opportunity that will ease the lives of the people)”, Domagoso said.
If elected president, the Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer said that he will focus on making the lives of the people better by protecting them against COVID-19 pandemic and making jobs available for them. These are all presented in his 10-Point Bilis Kilos Economic Agenda.
