4.6-magnitude earthquake hits Davao Occidental


A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Davao Occidental at 6:12 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Its epicenter was traced 5 kilometers (km) southeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental and it was tectonic in origin with a depth of 81 km.

Phivolcs also reported that an instrumental Intensity II was recorded in General Santos City, South Cotabato.

No aftershocks and damage are expected after this quake, said Phivolcs.
