Three heart-shaped plants to give your loved ones this Valentine’s Day

The heart is a universal symbol that is frequently used to show love, gratitude, and admiration.

Whether it's Valentine’s Day or not, gift your loved ones (or yourself!) with heart-shaped house plants that they can look after and remind them of your love.

Here are a few plants that you might want to check out:

Heartleaf philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum)

If you're looking for a plant that will suit a busy bee, look no further. The heartleaf philodendron is noted for being a hardy plant that doesn’t require a lot of care, which makes it a great present for newbie gardeners.

This philodendron, in addition to being low-maintenance, can turn an empty room into an Instagram-worthy spot in no time. It flourishes best when hung or positioned on an elevated cabinet or shelf where it can show off its climbing vines.

String of hearts (Ceropegia woodii)

Another houseplant that can make someone feel special with its exquisite little heart-shaped leaves is the string of hearts, also referred to as the rosary vine. It can be used to beautifully embellish ceilings or windows, too.

By hanging this house plant where it will receive enough bright indirect light and giving it some TLC, it can grow fast, and up to 13 feet tall.

Sweetheart hoya (Hoya kerrii)

Although it appears to be a heart-shaped cactus, this adorable heart plant is actually a hoya. Sweetheart hoya, sometimes called the valentine plant, is native to Southeast Asia.

Its enticing heart shape appeals to many gardeners, making it a popular and in-demand hoya variety, especially on occasions like Valentine’s Day.

Sweetheart hoyas only need to be watered once a month and to be placed under minimal light. With its size and growing requirement, it makes a great desk companion in the workplace or at home.

These three plants can enhance indoor air quality, promote mental health, and adorn spaces.

There is no better present than anything that may improve your loved ones' environment and health–both things plants can fulfill.
