3 Chinese arrested for kidnapping fellow citizen; SPD chief orders probe

Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, Southern Police District (SPD) director, ordered an investigation into the rising number of kidnapping incidents involving Chinese nationals in the southern part of Metro Manila.

Macaraeg issued his directive to SPD investigators after three Chinese were arrested for kidnapping a fellow citizen in Barangay Baclaran, Paranaque City, Saturday morning.

He identified the suspects as Jiang Jialan, 22; Wang Lei, 27; and Wu Jin Kui, 24, a tattoo artist.

The SPD chief said Pasay City police operatives rescued kidnap victim Lu Genshen, 27, at EMC Building on Lt. Garcia St., Barangay Baclaran at about 9:20 a.m. He was abducted at the Shore Residence in Pasay City on Feb. 7.

Macaraeg said that during the rescue operation, the police also found two other Chinese who were also victims of kidnapping. They are Zhao Yinglong, who was kidnapped on Feb 11 in Pasay City; and Han Wei Ming, who was snatched in Paranaque City on Feb. 9.

The SPD chief said police operatives recovered five handcuffs from the suspects.
