Samsung launches their first event of the year with the introduction of the Galaxy S22 phones: The S22, S22 Plus, and the S22 Ultra that comes with an S Pen stylus – making the future of the Note series a mystery.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra features a 6.8-inch OLED with 120Hz refresh rate. The processor is Samsung’s own 4nm Exynos, or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in other parts of the world. Other stuff includes 5000mAh battery, IP68 resistance, 45W fast charging and 15W wireless charging, and of course 5G and WiFi 6.

For the camera, you’ll be getting a 108MP main camera, along with telephoto cameras, a 12MP Ultrawide, and a 40MP front camera. You can now capture high-resolution night mode photos, which sounds pretty cool, but the first thing that came to mind, should I ever get to try this phone, is to go ghost hunting with it. Ha, high-res ghost pictures.
Anyway, the most interesting part of the Ultra though, is the S Pen stylus. This was the main selling point of the Note series and now it’s been shifted to the S series. What could this mean for the Note? Either Samsung is planning to merge the S and Note series to make room for the Fold series, or the next Note will be “that” amazing. We’ll find out for sure later this year when Samsung announces their second Unpack event.

Now, yes, the S22 Ultra does look impressive. But if you’re not interested in the stylus, then the S22 and the S22+ could be more of your thing. The S22 has a 6.1-inch screen while the S22+ goes up to 6.6. Both phones' screens are armed with 2340x1080 resolution.
Cameras, you’re hitting up 50MP main, 12MP Ultrawide, a 10MP telephoto, and a 10PM front camera. Though Samsung says they’ve made major improvements thanks to their “adaptive pixel technology.”
Also, the S22 has a 3700mAh battery and the S22+ with 4500.
We’ll talk more about these devices once we get a hold of them for our full reviews.
