Magsayo, as seen in a video posted by the World Boxing Council (WBC), made a surprise visit at the Wild Card Gym and handed out Roach's first WBC trainer's belt.

"I got the belt and I just want to get coach Freddie's belt also," said Magsayo. "I'm so happy that coach Freddie appreciates it too much. I'm so happy that we already have the WBC belt, the green one."

The WBC trainer's belt was first announced in 2018 as a form of special recognition to champion coaches.

The design, flat and long, resembles the towels which usually hang on the shoulders of respective coaches in the corner.

Roach, for his part, was all smiles after receiving his first WBC trainer's belt.

"This feels great. A great surprise and I'm very glad that he 'blindfolded' me with this. I didn't see this coming and he's here. He deserves it. He fought a great fight," said the Hall of Famer coach.

All celebration aside, Roach said it is time to move on and prepare for Magsayo's title defense.

"Time to move on, to defend. I mean, there's a lot of contenders out there and anyone who wants to step up, let's go," said the 61-year-old Roach.

Magsayo is set to defend his WBC featherweight belt against former WBC super bantamweight titlist Rey Vargas but full details have yet to be disclosed.

The Tagbilaran, Bohol native boxer captured the WBC belt after dethroning Gary Russel Jr. in Atlantic City, New Jersey last Jan. 22.
