Diokno, a senatorial aspirant, could not help but act like a typical fanboy over the local celebrities as he called them the “highlights” of their proclamation rally held on Tuesday night.

He is running for senator for the second time under the ticket of Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate Senator Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan.

“One of the highlights of our campaign kick-off in Bicol: Fanboy mode muna ako with Rivermaya, Nikki Valdez, Cherry Pie Picache, Bituin Escalante, Agot Isidro and The Company,” Diokno said in a Facebook post where he shared photos of his meeting with them.

Robredo’s grand rally in her home province became a star-studded event after various artists such as Gab Valenciano, Pinky Amador, Rita Avila, and others graced the event as volunteers.

The veteran lawyer was grateful for their presence in the event.

“Thank you for lending your talents to our campaign!”, added Diokno.

Rivermaya member Mark Escueta also shared a photo of their meeting with Diokno and accompanied it with the caption “Chel Diokno for Senator, Mark Escueta for Vice Senator.”

Popular 90s local band Rivermaya performed their hit song, “Liwanag sa Dilim,” during the fireworks display.

On Tuesday, Diokno visited various parts of Camarines Sur, including Tigaon, Libmanan, and Lupi before joining the campaign salvo in Naga City, the bailwick of Robredo.

The senatorial aspirant went to Sorsogon and Legazpi City, Libon, Guinobatan and Tabaco in Albay to attend various campaign activities and meet with different sectors the next day.
