ABS-CBN executives, stars react to Toni Gonzaga hosting BBM-Inday Sara rally

Many netizens expressed "disappointment" over actress-singer Toni Gonzaga who appeared as host of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos and Sara Duterte's proclamation rally at the Philippine Arena, Tuesday.

Among them are several ABS-CBN bosses, including Ethel Manaloto-Espiritu who actually called out the 38-year-old on it.

"Oh, my. Nakakalungkot, Tin (pleading face emoji)," she wrote on Twitter, along with the post that read: "After playing Bagong Lipunan, Toni Gonzaga shouts: 'Tapos na, may nanalo na, tapos ang laban.

Ethel reiterated she could never look at Toni the same way again.

"Your choices say a lot about you now kahit anong bible quotes pa sabihin mo. You are who you are. And it’s not good," she added, as she retweeted the news: "Toni Gonzaga, one of ABS-CBN's biggest celebrities, introduces Rodante Marcoleta who pushed to deny the franchise renewal of the network costing thousands of Kapamilya workers their jobs."

ABS-CBN Digital Media Manager France Sajorda also called out the veteran star.

He said: "Toni, libo-libong mga tumulong sa yong matupad ang mga pangarap mo at matanggap ng madla ang hitsura at talento mo ang nawalan ng kabuhayan dahil sa (mga) kandidatong sinusuportahan mo. Konting respeto. Nakakabastos."

France also slammed those netizens defending Toni citing people are "free to choose."

"Tigilan niyo ako ng 'free to vote' arguments niyo.

According to him, they're not ordering anyone to vote for someone but just calling out.

"Huh? We are CALLING OUT her actions na nakakabastos sa ABS-CBN.

Totoo yan. Pero reminder lang sa iconic line ni Uncle Ben and, now, ni Aunt May: 'with great power comes great responsibility.'"

France maintained he's also "disappointed" to Karla Estrada, who was also present at the said event.

Then he reposted DJ Chacha's tweet: "YOU ARE WHO YOU VOTE FOR (sparkling heart)."

Broadcast journalist Marc Logan then shared Toni's reaction during ABS-CBN layoff, where she said: “Sa lahat ng nasa posisyon ngayon, hindi namin makakalimutan ang ginawa n'yo sa mga trabahador ng ABS-CBN."

"Ay kakatouch," Marc said.

On the other hand, stand-up comedian Alex Calleja didn't mention names but wrote cryptic posts.

It read: "Ang bait ng ABS-CBN! and that's the tweet..."

"Delikadeza is such a lonely word."

"mapanga-has."
