25K people expected to join Bongbong-Sara campaign kickoff


The camp of presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio expect some 25,000 people to attend their proclamation rally to be held at the Philippine Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 8.

The event will start at 4 p.m. and end by 7 p.m., where Marcos Jr. and Duterte-Carpio will kick-off their bid for the highest seats in the country and introduce their official senatorial ticket for the upcoming elections.

Tuesday also marks the official start of the campaign period for national candidates in the May 9, 2022 elections.

The BBM-Sara tandem's senatorial line-up is composed of: Sherwin Gatchalian, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Gilbert Teodoro, Mark Villar, Harry Roque, Loren Legarda, Jinggoy Estrada, Rodante Marcoleta, Herbert Bautista, Larry Gadon, and Gringo Honasan.

According to the duo's camp, "Preparations for the 'big event' have started as early as Saturday morning, with volunteers meticulously putting the final touches until Monday evening to ensure that there will be no hitches when the BBM-Sara UniTeam kicks off its campaign."

Supporters from "all over the country" will participate in the event to be held at the world's largest indoor arena, which is located in Santa Maria, Bulacan.

​E​vent organizers said security will be tight​. Only those who are fully vaccinated will be allowed inside the arena.
