The Bureau of Immigration (BI) clarified that unvaccinated and partially vaccinated foreign nationals will not be allowed to enter the country.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said that fully vaccinated aliens are required to present proof of vaccination and the negative RT-PCR result valid for 48 hours prior to departure from the country of origin.
They are also required to have a passport valid at least for six months and an outbound ticket.
The BI chief said the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) set the requirements in a resolution lifting the ban on the entry of foreign tourists.
Morente said those who cannot present the required documents will be excluded and sent back to the next available flight to their port of origin.
Airlines bringing them will be sanctioned and fined, according to Morente.
He added that aliens coming from 157 countries listed under Executive Order No. 408 and other circulars issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs may enter the country even without a visa.
He said others may secure visa and entry exemption document from from the nearest Philippine embassy, or consulate.
