The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) said it received over P2 million monetary donation from Nestle Philippines to support its efforts in helping the victims of Typhoon Odette.

The Nestle Philippines donated a total of P2,451,266, the PRC said in a recent statement.

The donation “will be used to assist millions of vulnerable Filipino families affected by Super Typhoon Odette in the Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao region,” the PRC said.

The organization said that Nestle Philippines is a "long-time partner of PRC in responding to the current pandemic and other disasters as together they alleviate human suffering and provide hope."

“Nestle Philippines Inc. has always been a partner of the Philippine Red Cross in its corporate social responsibility efforts,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon.

“Your donation will boost and provide additional support to the Filipino people greatly affected by Typhoon Odette. May we always be partners who support each other in every Red Cross endeavor,” he added.

The PRC said it will continue to provide assistance to people affected by Typhoon Odette.

“Almost two months afterwards what was recorded as the most destructive storm in 2021, PRC continues to provide aid to locals across Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan areas through the nonstop deployment of PRC assets to lessen the distress and suffering of Odette victims while finding ways to elevate the dignity of the people,” it said.
