Valentine’s Day becomes more special with these special chocolate collaborations

Elevating Filipino chocolate experience here and abroad

Apart from the flowers and the heart-inspired gifts, giving out chocolates to loved ones is also a tradition practiced for so long during Valentine’s Day. While there are international favorites that never fail to satisfy everyone’s sweet cravings, it is also good to know that there are great locally-made options, and some even bagged international nods. Among those homegrown brands that are putting the Philippines on the map when it comes to the best chocolate is Auro Chocolate. After opening its first grab-and-go concept store, the brand is making February sweeter with its latest collaborations.

This month, the brand championing Philippine cacao shared on social media its latest partnership with chocolatier Daniel Corpuz, featured on Netflix’s “School of Chocolate” series, and chef Kimberly Camara of Kora, both are Filipino dessert masters currently making waves in the New York food scene. They are working together in presenting “Tsokolate,” an eight-course tasting menu of Filipino flavors, happening at Café Kitsuné in New York on Feb. 12.

“‘Tsokolate,’ which translates to ‘chocolate’ from Tagalog, showcases Auro’s internationally-recognized, Philippines-grown chocolate through Chef Daniel’s first exhibition of artistic showpieces and Kora’s reimagination of Filipino flavors, as well as an open bar of natural wine curated by Kora and Café Kitsune,” the brand posted on Instagram.

Among the delights to be served on the night are Kora’s profiteroles in three flavors inspired by Auro’s fine chocolates—Raspberry-Lychee, Mocha, and Toasted Coconut and Dark Chocolate. Adding to that is Daniel’s indulgent chocolate snack heart made with “Brownie Batter” Ganache with Vanilla Pate Sucree Cookie.

Locally, Auro Chocolate is also spreading the love with its collaboration with milk tea brand Macao Imperial Tea. Making chocolate and milk tea dreams come through is their specially curated beverages, merging their signature products. The limited-edition drinks come in three flavors—Auro Hot Dark Chocolate, Auro Iced Dark Chocolate, and Cream Cheese Auro Dark Chocolate—and are now available in all Macao Imperial Tea stores.

‘Tis the season to go loco for Filipino-made choco!
