A Palace official said the government should start managing the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation like how it does severe weather disturbances as a way of ushering the country out of a pandemic mindset.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) disclosed that more than 1,000 metric tons of COVID-19-related health care waste are being generated daily, and are being managed down to the barangay level.

The efficiency of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) will not suffer even with an en banc composed of only four members with the retirement of three colleagues, including former chairman Sheriff Abas. The Comelec en banc meets on Feb. 9, 2022.
