The three sons of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and his wife lawyer Liza Araneta-Marcos are all grown up now!

The First Couple said they are simply proud of their kids who have good breeding.

During an interview by popular entertainment host Aster Amoyo for her online show "TicTALK" recently, Bongbong said: "We trust our children and matino naman sila. Hindi naman kami nakiki-alam sa mga relationship nila."

Bongbong said he asked something from his sons - Sandro, Simon and Vincent - while they are still single.

"Usapan namin ng father ko noon, 'wag kang mag-asawa hanggang tapos ka.' Yun din ang sinabi ko sa kanila. I-promise ninyo sa akin, huwag kayong mag-a-asawa hangga't hindi kayo tapos. Mag girlfriend kayo okay lang sa akin. Now, tapos na silang lahat at nagta-trabaho na silang lahat. Wala pang interesadong mag-asawa," Bongbong said.

Liza, also a professor, believes she would cry once her sons get married. "But I'm sure we will cry if they get married." She revealed she already befriended one of the girls being dated by his son through social media. "S'yempre para pogi points sa anak ko."

"Nag-aral sila abroad. Pagbalik dito, after a year, sabi ni Bongbong, alam n'yo mga lalaki kayo, you live on your own. Now, they live on their own. Ngayon, na mi-miss namin (sila). Free food dito pa rin pero okay lang naman yan," she added.

With their busy schedules, the Marcoses usually bond on Sundays.

"Normally, on Sundays, lunch with my family here. Then merienda and dinner with his family, dito rin. Bongbong will cook," Liza said.

Liza said her husband is a good cook. Once, she tried to match his cooking skills, but she failed.

"The first time pinaluto n'ya ako ng mechado sabi n'ya ang sarap ng adobo mo. Sa New York 'yan ha. I even went to a Korean store to get the ingredients. So sabi ko never again. Nililigawan pa lang niya ako nun ha so can you imagine?" she said.

Bongbong said: "Pag may oras, I cook. Parang meditation ko 'yun."

Liza added: "Or minsan kapag marami akong meeting, minsan magluluto siya. Andyan na. Yung mga anak mo marunong din magluto dahil sa kanya."

"Actually hindi naman talaga kami magaling magluto pero magaling kaming kumain. Alam lang talaga namin yung gusto namin," Bongbong said.

The senator recalled learning how to cook. "Lahat ng Pilipino na nasa abroad matututo dahil ma mi-miss mo yung mga Pinoy dishes. Tapos noong nasa Oxford kami, may cook kami. Pero sa Pennsylvania sa Wharton, kaming mga Pilipino students they would host us, so magluluto kami ng kare-kare. Although it was very good, hindi pa rin ito yung niluluto sa bahay. So iba yung timpla namin. So when I come home, nagpapaturo ako sa auntie ko. Nililista ko kung paano. So sinubukan ko hangga't natuto ako. Pero forced to good ka lalo't nagmamadali ka sa almusal. So sabi ko sa mga anak ko, dapat marunong kayo magluto ng almusal. So they all cook now. Puwede na mag-survive."

Bongbong said they really make special efforts to bond and meet together at least once a week.

"We have to make a special effort kasi kung hindi, hindi kami magkikita," the senator said.

Bongbong admitted there was a time he got worried because his children do not know their cousins.

"They know their cousins pero hindi sila close. So sinabi ko we have to find a way na magkita sila para maging close. And it seems to have worked. Now they are close. Silang magpipinsan, magbabarkada na sila," he said.

Liza also said she rarely grants interviews for the press or attend events of her husband.

"I don't really go out. I don't do interviews for magazines. Early on, we've decided that he's the politician, so he's the star. I'll be the backup dancer, lang. Okay lang naman sa akin yun. Hindi naman ako politician so hindi ako makikisawsaw d'yan. It's really not in my nature," the wife of Bongbong said.

Bongbong and Liza met in 1989. Liza then was working for a law firm in The Big Apple while Bongbong was taking his masters at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. They swore it wasn't love at first sight. In 1993, they got married in Florence, Italy.

In April 2018, Bongbong and Liza renewed their vows in Italy. The silver wedding anniversary held at the same medieval church where they got married was attended by the same guests they had before. This year, the happily married couple will mark their 29th wedding anniversary. And the rest is history.
