Some 12 Bar examinees tested positive for COVID-19 while 13 failed to show up for the first day of the two-day Bar examinations at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) Friday, February 4.
The examinees are among the 259 law graduates who are scheduled to take the first day of the examinations today at ADZU, the only Bar examination venue in Zamboanga City.
Only 234 showed up at the testing venue.
Records from the Emergency Operations Center under the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office showed that 12 of the 259 examinees tested positive for COVID-19 on February 2 and 3.
Executive Order 703-2022 states that all bar examinees are mandated to undergo COVID-19 testing at least 48 hours before the Bar exams.
Health protocols are also strictly enforced among the examinees, proctors and personnel of the Supreme Court.
No problems on security and traffic, however, were reported within the vicinity of the university.
To ensure the smooth flow of traffic, Zamboanga mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar issued an executive order for the closure of three main streets surrounding the venue.
