Paul Soriano clears viral 'I am not afraid of being canceled by the minority' quote

Film director-producer Paul Soriano has come out to enlighten fans about a certain quote attributed to him.

He was supposed to have said: “I am not afraid of being canceled by the minority.”

In an interview with MJ Mondejar for SMNI News, the husband of Toni Gonzaga cleared he never uttered those words.

He added, "I’m the type of person also that I would never cancel anyone."

"Hindi naman ako ganoong tao. There’s no need for me to cancel anyone. Whether you like me, you love, you hate me. I just wanna get the record straight, I didn’t say that I’m canceling anyone."

Paul has been earning brickbats for supporting Bongbong Marcos.

Note that last Jan. 29, Paul shared some photos taken during the filming of Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio's "Unity" commercial.

Some online users made huge ado of the date on the clapper, Jan. 8.

Note it was the day Bongbong failed to attend physically or virtually, the Comelec’s preliminary conference on his disqualification cases for supposedly being in isolation due to COVID-19 symptoms.

Paul reiterated that the advertisement video was shot all over the Philippines for one week.

"On January 8, 2022 I was in Davao with my staff and crew shooting the Davao portion of the commercial. We were in Brgy. Kapatagan capturing the beauty of Mt.Apo," he related.

He thinks the criticism "unfortunate," but then he believes it’s part of society.

"At the end of the day, I subscribe to unity as what to BBM and Sara are living by. Hopefully, our country will understand and one day realize that it’s important to come together rather than be against each other.”
