Lacson telegraphs Valentine's gift wish for favorite Michael Jordan sneakers
As the love month of February starts, Partido Reporma chairman and presidential candidate Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson has this advise to lovers and non-lovers, as well: ‘In life and in love, Filipinos must never lose hope that better days will always be ahead.’

Lacson who, during a Radyo Bombo interview did not hide his excitement for what his wife, Alice, might give him as Valentine’s Day gift, said Filipinos should not give up for whatever challenges that may come their way, saying that this principle should also be applied in love life.
Queried by program co-anchor Jane Buna what Mrs. Lacson will be expecting from him as gift on February 14, Lacson said Alice usually gets a bunch of roses and chocolate either on her birthday, which falls on Feb.12 or on Feb. 14.
But what Mrs. Lacson gives in return is a surprise each year for the former Philippine National Police chief.
“Palagay ko ‘yon ang ireregalo niya sa akin kasi conscious din siya, naging aware na siya na ‘yon nga, mukhang nag-trending ‘yung suot kong sneakers, ‘yung Air Jordan (I believe she will give be Air Jordan sneakers because she became conscious and presently aware that the sneakers I wore went on trending),” he disclosed.
“Kasi alam niya rin na talagang ang paborito kong NBA player, noon pa, noong naglalaro pa sa Chicago Bulls si Michael Jordan. So palagay ko, hinuhulaan ko, ‘yan siguro ‘yung ireregalo niya sa akin. Hindi ko lang alam kung anong kulay.(Because she also knows my favorte player, even before he was still with the Chicago Bulls, is Michael Jordan. So I guess, that is what she will give me, I just don’t know what color.)” he said.
Lacson has been a longtime fan of the legendary Michael Jordan of Chicago Bulls and future National Basketball Association Hall of Fame recipient Lebron James. Among locals, he idolizes Robert “The Big J” Jaworski, a former colleague in the Senate.
But on a more serious note about love and second chances, Lacson said: ”Huwag mawalan ng pag-asa. Habang may buhay, may pag-asa. Huwag patayin ang puso kasi dapat laging buhay 'yan, kasi laging may second chance (Don't lose hope. So long as there is life, there is hope).” "Maging sa pang-araw araw nating mga problema o hinaharap lalo sa pag-ibig, meron laging second chance (Whether it's the problems we face in love or in life, there is always a second chance)," he added.
Lacson and his vice presidential running mate , Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, are hoping to give Filipinos hope for a better life with their programs themed on fixing the ills of government (Aayusin ang Gobyerno, Aayusin ang Buhay ng Bawat Pilipino) and running after thieves especially in government (Uubusin ang Magnanakaw).
Also, Lacson said he would pray daily that the Philippines and Filipinos would see better days ahead, especially in the wake of the devastation caused by the pandemic on our health and economy.
