DA distributes 1,000 health kits to its frontline personnel

Department of Agriculture (DA) has distributed 1,000 health kits to its frontline personnel in response to the recent upsurge of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

“With the cases within Metro Manila and within the department at its all-time high, it was necessary that the frontline personnel, especially our elderly, differently-abled persons and persons with comorbidities, be equipped and be protected from this dreaded virus,” DA Undersecretary for Special Concerns Waldo R. Carpio said in a statement on Monday, Jan. 31.

The health kits contain face masks, face shields, alcohol with an atomizer, wet wipes, and vitamins.

They were distributed from Jan. 12 to Jan. 28 to the DA Central Office and other attached agencies such as the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE), Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS), and Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR), among others.

“We must keep the gears that keep the department's machinery running so that our delivery of much-needed services to our beloved farmers and fisherfolks remain unhampered. We must keep the people behind the pursuit of Masaganang Ani at Mataas na kita secured from the risks of COVID-19,” Carpio said.
