DAVAO CITY - Davao City residents may now walk, bike, or exercise for limited hours every day along a portion of the newly built Davao City coastal road.
In a statement released by the City Government of Davao, Angel Sumagaysay, head of the Public Safety and Security Command Center said that vehicles are still not allowed to use the road except for the designated parking areas.
He said leisure activities such as walking, biking, playing, jogging, exercising, and skating are allowed from 5:00 am to 8:00 am and from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The first phase of the total 18.50-kilometer stretch of the coastal road covers the section of Bago Aplaya to Barangay Talomo.

The area also has a children's playground and skating rink, which, according to Sumagaysay is "still a work in progress and may open soon."
Sumagaysay said the city government also deployed teams from the River Patrol, Coastal Monitoring Team, CTTMO, Davao City Police Office, Task Force Davao, and City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) to monitor the area.
Sumagaysay added that they are also strictly monitoring the public's observance of the minimum public health standards (MPHS) in the area including the wearing of face masks, social distancing, and washing or frequent hand sanitizing.
