How is Pokémon Legends: Arceus faring so far?

The scoop on the new game, and a video you could watch to get a feel of the expansive landscape of the Jade Region

The much-anticipated Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now out on the Nintendo Switch. Just a few hours from its release, the game has been receiving glowing praises from gamers and reviewers alike.

This latest iteration of the famous video game series broke ground as the first open-world Pokémon title, a very different but exciting direction for the franchise. As early as now, fans and regular players are loving it—apart from some minor glitches here and there that, with hope, would get fixed in coming patches.

Some people call it the Breath of the Wild of Pokémon. If that were the case, two revolutionary titles combined would only produce an even more disruptive game, as is the case of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

As a matter of fact, most reviews deem it to be the best game in the series so far.

To summarize how good the title is, a quote from Nintendo Life: “With its emphasis on extremely rewarding exploration, addictive catching mechanics, a fine roster of Pokémon, and a genuine sense of scale that’s unlike anything in the series, Pokémon Legends: Arceus is quite simply one of the greatest Pokémon games ever made.”
Polygon, The Verge, GamesRadar, Eurogamer, and many other reliable reviewers have the same sentiments. So, is the game worth picking up? The answer is a resounding yes.

A week before the much-anticipated Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the Pokémon Company released an immersive content titled Pokémon Legends: Arceus Hisui 360° View.

Pokémon fans can now bask in the abundant nature and expansive landscape of the Jade Region, the setting of the upcoming video game, in full 380-degree view.

Take note that what is on the video is not the actual gameplay. It does, however, show players the world and features of the Pokémon Legends: Arceus from a first-person POV. The in-game perspective will be in third-person.

The video starts with a ninja-Pokémon trainer standing still. As he begins to run, the camera merges with the character, turning into a first-person POV. Now you, the ninja, will do a quick jog. In a short while you transition to ride Wyrdeer, the reindeer Pokémon, on land. It takes you away into a cliff and jumps off.

Wyrdeer returns to its Pokéball, and you bring out a paraglider dragged by Hisuian Braviary. If you look up, you would see the giant bird Pokémon flapping its wings as you glide through the skies. It later drops you into a river where you ride a Basculegion, the large, green, fish-like Pokémon. You go up the shore and ride Wyrdeer again. It leads you to a group of Pokémon namely, buizels, a wurmple, and a starly, where the video ends.

The immersive video is a tease to the Pokémon Legends: Arceus that is now available on the Nintendo Switch console.
