Even Cabinet members 'clueless' about Duterte's expose' on presidential candidates --- Nograles

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said President Duterte has not yet shared with anyone the information that he holds about the people aiming to be his successor in Malacañang. He urged the public to be patient as the Chief Executive himself will make his revelations in due time.

Nograles made the statement after Duterte said early this week that he would soon reveal some dirt on the presidential aspirants in the May 2022 polls.

In an interview with CNN Philippines, Nograles said he has no idea what information Duterte has on the presidential candidates.

"Personally, not yet. He has not told us personally or named them," he said.

He appealed to the public to just wait for the President to make the revelations himself.

"Siguro abangan na lang natin sa (Perhaps we should just wait for the) next 'Talk to the People,'" Nograles said.

"Baka doon na, magsasalita na siya (Maybe he will talk there) about the details or information that he has that he wants to share with the people," he added.

President Duterte's weekly "Talk to the People" is a pre-recorded public address/meeting with key Cabinet members leading the country's fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It usually airs late Monday evening and sometimes, another episode is aired the same week.

In an episode aired Tuesday morning, Duterte said he will name the candidates and what he thinks is wrong with them as the public deserves to know the truth.

While not mentioning any names, Duterte described one presidential aspirant as "unworthy," and another male candidate as "too corrupt." Of all the hopefuls, he said everyone has issues "except one."

"So walang personalan to. Because obligasyon ko lang na kailangan masabi ko sa tao (It's nothing personal. It's my obligation to tell the people)," he said.

Despite this, the President said the decision is still up to the electorate.
