Fire razes 15 houses in Taguig


At least 15 houses were destroyed when a fire hit a residential area in Taguig on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

According to a report by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Taguig, the fire started in the house of Anabel Vetonio at 210 Paso St., Barangay Bagumbayan.

Firefighters raised the first alarm at 1:28 p.m. and the second alarm at 1:38 p.m.

City Fire Director Supt. Bernard Rosete declared “fire out” at 3:04 p.m.

One person reportedly died in the fire but the BFP-Taguig was “waiting for confirmation from PNP SOCO ” team, according to the report.

The fire damaged around 15 houses and affected about 18 families or 57 individuals.

Investigators estimated the cost of damage to property at P150,000.

Forty-nine fire trucks responded to the incident.

Probers are still establishing the cause of the fire.
