Two public transport terminal barkers selling fake vaccination cards to unvaccinated commuters were arrested by members of the Pasay City police on Monday, Jan. 24.

Pasay City police chief Col. Cesar Paday-os identified the suspects as Alex Batayan, 39, of 515 MA Felix, St., Malibay, Pasay City, and Eddie Garcia, 46, of 524 Espiritu St., Cabrera, Barangay 143, Pasay City.

They are now detained at the Pasay City police custodial facility and violation of Article 2 Revised Penal Code in relation to RA 11332 (fake vaccination card) was filed against them.

Paday-os said the suspects were arrested at about 6:30 p.m. along Apelo Cruz St., Barangay 151, Pasay City.

He said a concerned citizen called up Sub-Station 6 informing police officers Cpl. Luvis Compihios and Pat. Mark Dante Antoni on the alleged illegal activity of the suspects who were engaged in selling vaccination cards for P500 to unvaccinated commuters.

The city police chief said that Comphios and Antoni approached the suspects and found in their possession a fake Pasay City government vaccination card.

He also ordered the police to strictly enforce health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
