Malabon City Mayor Antolin “Lenlen” Oreta III led the inauguration of the Innovative Building of the City of Malabon University (CMU) on Monday, Jan. 24.
In a Facebook post on Jan. 25, Oreta shared the video clips of the event.
“Bagong taon, bagong building ang ateng binuksan sa CMU (This new year, we opened a new building) to provide a conducive venue for our #CMUzens to learn as we prepare them to be global citizens. Now, mas ready na tayo to welcome our students back sa ateng campus kapag pumayag na ulit and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) (Now, we are more ready to welcome our students back to our campus if the CHED agrees again),” the city mayor said.
The new building has 14 classrooms, a gymnasium, an education technology (EDTech) room, a quality assurance room, a control records room, a server room, and an Acer academy room.
According to Oreta, the newly built infrastructure perfectly suits the needs of the students.
“Patuloy ninyong alagaan at pahalagahan ang bunga ng ating sama-samang pagtutulungan (Continue to cherish and appreciate the fruits of our cooperation),” he said.
Meanwhile, Oreta expressed gratitude to Congresswoman Jaye Lacson-Noel, Malabon City Vice Mayor Bernard Dela Cruz, Enzo Oreta, and other city officials who attended the inauguration.
The CMU, first known as Malabon Community College (MCC), was founded in 1994 through Municipal No. 14-1993 in Barangay Panghulo, Malabon City.
As of school year 2021-2022, CMU has a total of 5,450 enrolled students and 10 student organizations. (Cherrylin Caacbay)
