Marikina City launches walk-in booster vax for seniors, PWDs


Marikina City, on Tuesday, Jan. 25, launched a walk-in coronavirus (COVID-19) booster vaccination program exclusively for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

This is the city’s first walk-in vaccination program since the series of National COVID-19 Vaccination or Bayanihan, Bakunahan held on Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 and Dec. 15 to 23, respectively.

The vaccination program, from Jan. 25-28, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., will take place at the Marikina Sports Center along Sumulong Highway in Barangay Sto. Nino, Marikina and is open only to senior citizens and PWDs.

As per the Department of Health (DOH) guideline, only those who have been fully vaccinated for at least three months are eligible to receive their booster shots.

Marikina, as of Monday, Jan. 24, has a total of 663 active COVID-19 cases.
