In a press statement, PCUP said that its Field Operations Division for Mindanao deployed donations such as medicines, vitamins, and clothes to “Odette”-affected families in San Francisco Anao-aon, Surigao del Norte on Jan. 19.

“Batid ng komisyon ang hirap na dinanas ng mga naapektuhan ng bagyo gayundin ang kanilang mga pangangailangan kaya naman ay patuloy ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng PCUP sa iba’t-ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan upang magpaabot ng tulong (The Commission is aware of the hardships endured by those affected by the typhoon, as well as their needs. So the PCUP continues to partner with various government agencies to be able to extend assistance),” said PCUP Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alvin Feliciano.

Among other initiatives, PCUP added that the Commission also participated in the Recovery and Rehabilitation Plan Conference together with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DPWH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Agriculture (DA), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Home Development and Mutual Fund (HDMF), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The said conference was conducted to discuss possible programs and services which may be offered to typhoon-affected families in the province.
