
President Duterte has appointed former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Executive Director Jennifer Joy Chua Ong as associate justice of the Court of Appeals (CA).
At the time Justice Ong was appointed, she is an undersecretary in the Office of the Appointments Secretary of the Office of the President.
Justice Ong, who took her oath of office on Friday afternoon, Jan. 21, before Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo at the Supreme Court’s session hall, is the replacement of retired Associate Justice Ma. Luisa Q. Padilla.
Ong, from Davao City, earned her law degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.
Her appointment papers were sent by Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea to Chief Justice Gesmudo.
