Caught on video: rider 'abducted' in broad daylight in Negros Occ.

BACOLOD CITY – A man has been reported missing for two days now, after he was allegedly abducted at Purok Margarita, Barangay Abuanan, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Police identified the victim as Johnson Ciervo Garfil, 32, of Barangay Ara-al, La Carlota City.

A video posted by Garfil’s cousin on Facebook, went viral on Wednesday, showing an unidentified man pushing Garfil’s feet inside a sports utility vehicle (SUV) with no car plate, while another unidentified man was seen in the area beside a motorcycle.

Another motorcycle then arrived but all of them were all wearing helmets, thus their faces were not clearly visible.

The person who captured the incident thought there was an accident.

The incident which happened around 10 a.m., was reported by barangay officials to the police after receiving the information.

The victim was driving his motorcycle when two other motorcycles blocked his way and forcibly took him to the SUV, according to some witnesses.

Police Lt. Joseph Jaro, deputy police chief of Bago City Police Station, said the victim was released on bail from jail last year for an offense which is not drug-related.

Jaro said they have seen the video but they still have no lead yet on the whereabouts of the victim and identity of the perpetrators. Investigation is ongoing.
