Taiwanese fugitive arrested in Paranaque City

A Taiwanese fugitive was arrested by police operatives in Baclaran, Paranaque City on Saturday night.

Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said the suspect, Sie Mu-Shi, 33, was apprehended by members of Paranaque Police Sub-Station 2, Luzon Field Unit of PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group, and the District Investigation Division.

Macaraeg said that on Jan. 15 at 4:30 p.m., Police Attache Po-Yuan “Charlie” Wu of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office requested assistance in serving the warrant of arrest to Mu-Shi.

He said Wu told him that Mu-Shi has been wanted by Pingtung District Court for illegal possession of firearms since 2021.

The SPD director said the warrant of arrest was served to Mu-Shi at a hotel on Roxas Boulevard in Baclaran, where he was allegedly being held due to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operation (POGO)-related issues.

Macaraeg said the police team talked to a certain Atty. Tabaldo for the turnover of Mu-Shi to their custody.

When he was brought to the PNP Luzon Field Unit at Camp Crame in Quezon City, police found out that Mu-Shi has body injuries.
