The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Second Division junked the petition seeking to disqualify former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos from the presidential race.

The country posted more than 37,000 cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on a single day, but the number of recoveries is also piling up with almost 34,000, and fatalities were kept to just 23.

Dozens were apprehended on the first day of implementation of the “No Vaccination, No Ride” policy in Metro Manila and areas where Alert Level 3 is imposed.

Three inmates of the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa escaped, even as an attempt to bolt the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) by drug suspect Kerwin Espinosa and two other inmates was foiled.

Meanwhile, a gruesome family tragedy happened in Catanduanes when a drunk policeman shot dead his wife and toddler child before he turned his gun on himself.
