Reports from the Antipolo City Police Station showed that the blaze totally destroyed the bungalow type house of the Glee family on Chico Street, Purok Sumulong, in Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City.

Police investigator Master Sergeant Leo Balonsong told Manila Bulletin that Vanessa Glee, 2, perished in the fire. Her body, based on the initial investigation conducted by Police Staff Sergeant Alex Getiayon, was found after fire out was declared after 10 a.m.

Getiayon said the victim's siblings, aged 7 and 4, were rescued by their neighbors before the fire gutted the house.

“Masyado na daw malaki ang apoy kaya hindi na nabalikan ng mga kapitbahay ang bata na noon ay natutulog sa kuwarto (The fire was already big that is why the neighbors failed to rescue the girl who was then sleeping in their room),” Getiayon said.

Police said the victim’s mother was out of the house and her father was working as a garbage collector when the incident happened.
