Ratings for episode 10 of Korean drama ‘Snowdrop’ dip


The latest episode of the JTBC Korean drama “Snowdrop” starring Jung Hae-in and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo slid in the ratings.

According to Nielsen Korea, episode 10 of “Snowdrop” which aired on Jan. 15 got a nationwide rating of 2.6 percent, Korean media outlet Celuv Media reported.

It placed out of the top 10 among general programming cable TV shows for the day based on total households subscribed to paid platforms in South Korea.

This is a decrease of 0.464 percentage point from 3.064 percent (eighth place) the drama got for episode 9 last Jan. 9 but slightly higher by 0.016 than the 2.584 percent it received for episode 8 on Jan. 8 (Saturday).

Based on the number of viewers, episode 10 was watched by 660,000 people (fourth place) nationwide compared to 759,000 people (seventh place) who watched episode 9.

The Oh Jung-se drama “Uncle” placed first among general programming cable TV shows on Jan. 15 with 7.279 percent while the 10th place is the MBN news program “Daily Economy in the Morning” with 2.627 percent.

In the Seoul metropolitan area, episode 10 of “Snowdrop” received a rating of 2.489 percent to place 10th overall among general programming cable TV shows.

This is lower by 0.873 percentage points compared to the 3.362 percent rating for episode 9, which landed “Snowdrop” in seventh place.

Based on the number of viewers, episode 10 was watched by 255,000 people (fifth place) in the Seoul metropolitan area. In comparison, episode 9 was watched by 361,000 people (seventh place).

“Snowdrop” is about political conspiracy and espionage against the backdrop of the 1987 Korean presidential election and romance.

In the drama, the South and North Korean governments conspire for political power. Jung Hae-in plays the role of Im Soo-ho, a 27-year-old graduate student who is a North Korean spy sent to South Korea for a mission.

Jisoo is 20-year-old Eun Young-ro, a first year college student at Hosoo Women’s University. They meet during a group blind date after which Eun Young-ro falls in love with him. In episode 10, the drama continued with the hostage situation at the university dormitory.
