Korina Sanchez cries: 'I refuse to be a victim'

Broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez has shared a message for her followers.

On Instagram, she wrote: "I refuse to be a victim. Infected or not, I remain positive. Kaya natin itoh."

She then thanked the Lord for the sun, sea, and air.

"...and for our HEALTH. Celebrating survival and victory over this virus. We are God’s creations. We will prevail," she added.

Korina pleaded fans to get vaccinated.

"And Lets all be safe! Sabi nga No one is Safe until everybody is Safe!"

Recently, Korina drew flak over a post about being COVID-free.

The original post read: “IMAGINE. Lahat nagka covid na. Ako never pa. And Im ALL OVER. Thank you, Lord. Sadya akong pinagpala kase dami ko tinutulungan?”

This didn’t sit well with impersonator-online content creator Ate Dick and former “Survivor Philippines” castaway Kiko Rustia.

Ate Dick posted a screenshot of the post, writing: “KAYA KAYO TUMULONG KAYO KUNG AYAW NIYO MAGKACOVID.”

Meanwhile, Kiko deemed Korina’s post as “sobrang off.”

He tweeted: “Wala sa lugar yung post nya, lalo na yung pag flex nya ng photo nyang yan plus that original caption. Sobrang off.”

Korina updated the caption to “IMAGINE. Lahat nagka covid na. Ako never pa. And Im ALL OVER. Thank you, Lord. Sadya akong pinagpala kase baka nakakatulong yung may natutulungan din? Please bless and heal all those infected.”

Ate Dick once again reposted the updated post and said: “AY WAIT BINAGO NA PALA CAPTION BASTA TUMULONG PA RIN OKEI.”

As if it wasn’t enough, the vlogger then told the journalist: “Tone deaf naman po Ms Korina.”

Korina replied: “Talaga ba? Nagpasalamat lang na di pa na covid tone deaf na? Baka ikaw? (thumbs down emoji).”

Ate Dick then shared the screenshot of their exchange along with the text that read: “HALA LAGOWT! SA DAMI NG COMMENTS TAYO ANG LUCKY WINNER SA GRAND DRAW!”

Korina has since deleted the viral post.

Recently, she posted: “Thank you Lord. So many sick and infected. Ive never been positive—- even as Im all over for work I have to do. Frontliner pa ako ngayon sa househelp and driver ko. Help me help others through this pandemic. Kaya natin ito.”

In the comments section, a netizen applauded Korina for removing her previous post.

Korina answered: “Miscalculation of words in caption. This is what I meant.”
