The Provincial Health Office (PHO) in Bulacan on Wednesday, Jan. 12, logged 1,607 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the province to 98,067.

The PHO said that 90,566 COVID-19 patients have recovered. There were two recorded deaths that brought the total number of fatalities due to COVID-19 to 1,491.
Out of the 7,501 active cases, 2,872 are asymptomatic, 4,352 are mild or moderate, while 277 are severe. There were no recorded critical cases in the three cities and 23 municipalities in the province.
The PHO said of the active cases, 339 are admitted in the hospitals, 81 in a Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility, while 7,081 are under home isolation.
The PHO listed Hagonoy, City of Malolos, Marilao, City of San Jose Del Monte, City of Meycauayan, Bocaue, Santa Maria, Guiguinto, and Baliwag as high epidemic risk areas.
Plaridel, Norzagaray, San Rafael, San Miguel, San Ildefonso, Balagtas, Bulakan, Bustos , Obando, Calumpit, Angat, and Paombong are under the moderate classification, while Dona Remedios Trinidad, Pulilan, and Pandi were placed under the low epidemic risk classification. (Freddie C. Velez)
