Angono LGU limits health office operations due to COVID

With more frontline personnel under quarantine or in isolation facilities after contracting the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the health office of the Angono Municipal Government has been operating on a limited capacity since January 11.

The Angono Public Information office said that the operations of the municipal health office has resulted in the reduction in the number of persons to be vaccinated for COVID-19 at the COVID Vaccination Satellite 1 near the Dental Office and Municipal Library.

Only the first 50 persons who have secured a queuing number at the Dental Office will be accommodated at the vaccination site.

The operation of the TB-DOTs (Tuberculosis-Directly Observed Treatment Strategy) for those with TB or suspected of having TB has also been temporarily suspended until further notice.

The municipal government also announced that the second dose vaccination for the pediatric population, initially scheduled on January 11, has been moved to January 14 at SM Center Angono, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Anti-rabies vaccination, pharmacy, issuance of permits from the sanitation office, and issuance of medical certificate at the Municipal Health Office, however, are not affected by the limited operations of the COVID-affected office of the municipal government.

In his Facebook live update on January 11, Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon revealed that he has started isolating himself after one of his staff tested positive for COVID-19.

As of January 11, the Art Capital of the Philippines recorded 489 active cases, the highest single day tally logged since March 2020.

The municipal government has not issued any announcement or update on the COVID-19 situation in the town on its social media pages on January 12.
