Around 200 persons were left homeless after a fire razed some 35 houses in Zamboanga City Monday morning, January 10.
Walmart Atilano, Barangay Tetuan chairperson, said the fire started at around 10am at the house of Virginia Francisco located in Falcatan Street, Barangay Tetuan.

The flames quickly spread to adjoining houses made of light and semi-concrete materials. Fire out was declared around noon time.
No casualties were reported.
The local government of Zamboanga is presently conducting profiling and validation of victims temporarily housed at an elementary school in the area.
Fire investigators are still probing the incident but the initial cause was said to be faulty electrical wiring.
