"In light of the alarming number of members of the PWU Community -- faculty, non-teaching personnel, and students or their family members -- who have either tested positive for COVID-19 or are displaying symptoms, we are declaring a university health break from January 10 to 12, 2022," PWU President Marco Alfredo M. Benitez said.

During the two-day health break, synchronous and asynchronous classes, as well as submission of requirements and office work in all PWU campuses will be suspended "to allow our community to rest and recover."

Benitez also urged its members who are experiencing symptoms or may have been in contact with someone who tested positive to inform the University Medical Science Diagnostic Center (MSDC) immediately.

"We would also like to remind everyone to get vaccinated; and for those 3 months from their second dose, to get boosted, to protect ourselves and our loved ones," he added.

"We continue to pray for the health and safety of our every member of the PWU community."
