Entry of unvaxxed aliens at BI satellite offices in malls banned

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said unvaccinated aliens will not be allowed to transact business inside its field offices located inside commercial centers.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said, however, that unvaccinated foreign nationals may do so with its field office outside malls after securing online appointment.

The BI chief issued the clarification due to many queries posted in social media pages.

Morente explained that the ban was based on a resolution issued by the Metro Manila Council (MMC) that disallowed unvaccinated individuals from dining in restaurants and entering malls in a bid to contain the resurgence of coronavirus (COVID-19).

He warned that aliens caught violating the restriction could be deported.
