724 Malabon senior citizens get COVID-19 jabs


Around 724 senior citizens in Malabon City received their COVID-19 jabs during the mass vaccination drive for the elderly on Thursday, Jan. 6.

According to the Malabon City Health Department report, 56 senior citizens received their first dose, 17 their second dose, and 651 got their booster shots.

At present, 29,112 senior citizens are fully vaccinated, which is 83 percent of the city’s target population for the age group.

Meanwhile, 29,606 senior citizens have received their first dose, or 84.4 percent of the target senior population.

The senior citizens received their shots at the health centers of barangays Longos, Niugan, Potrero, San Agustin, Santulan, Tinajeros, and Tugatog.

Special lanes for senior citizens were also set up in the vaccination sites at Elisa Esguerra Campus of Arellano University, Catmon Covered Court, Fishermall Malabon, and Robinsons Town Mall.

As of Jan. 6, Malabon city recorded 611 active COVID-19 cases, 20,606 recoveries, and 662 deaths. (Khriscielle Yalao)
