MB Daily News Update

The Philippine average of daily coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases has jumped to more than 3,000. And there is no indication that the surge would slow down in the near future.

And supposedly in the middle of this surge are those who remain unvaccinated.

This is why President Duterte has thrown his full support behind the move by Metro Manila mayors to restrict the movement of the so-called “unvaxxed” persons, and has even tasked barangay chairpersons to see to it that this mandate is enforced in their jurisdictions.

Duterte has also reached out to officials of the Quiapo church, seeking their understanding why the traditional Traslacion held every Jan. 9 should be cancelled anew.

These are the top stories this Wednesday morning, Jan. 5, 2022.
