Unvaccinated individuals cannot travel within the country via land, sea and air public transport, while alert Level 3 is in effect in the National Capital Region until the middle of this month.
That is, except for the procurement of essential goods and services, subject to the production of proof to support and justify such travel.
The prohibition applies to individuals aged 17 and below, senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with comorbidities, even if they had been vaccinated.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) made the announcement Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, recognizing the Resolution issued by the Metro Manila Council, approved by the mayors of the cities and municipality in the NCR. This prohibition will be enforced while Metro Manila under Alert Level III.
The DOTr and its attached agencies shall closely coordinate with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on the enforcement of the policy.
