5 Chinese, 1 Filipino kidnappers arrested in Paranaque City


The Paranaque City police arrested five Chinese nationals and their Filipino cohort in an entrapment operation for the release of their kidnap victim, Monday, Jan. 3, in Paranaque City.

Police identified the suspects as Hu Yang, 34; Zhang Jie, 28; Cen Sha Lu, 28, all billeted at the City of Dreams, Paranaque City; Shen Fa, 29, who was billeted at PBCOM Tower in Ayala Avenue, Makati City; Han Xun, 33, residing at Shore Residence, Pasay City; and Hazel Cotaco, 37, of Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City.

They were charged for kidnapping and illegal possession of drugs and are now detained at the Paranaque City custodial facility.

Investigation showed that the suspects were arrested at about 4:00 p.m. in front of a hotel located along Bradco Avenue, Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City.

Police said the victim, Shaomen Yu, 25, a businessman, was forcibly taken by the suspects infront of Monarch Park Suites at about 4:00 a.m. on Monday .

Jie Sun, 25, of Barangay Baclaran, Paranaque City and a friend of the victim, reported to the police at 11:00 a.m. that he received a message through WeChat coming from the suspects demanding for P700,000 for the release of Yu.

Police immediately conducted the entrapment operation. Found in the possession of Han Xu were1.75 grams of shabu amounting to P11,990 and the P20,000 marked money.
