BACOLOD CITY — A man said to be suffering from nervous breakdown is being accused of killing hias father inside their home in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on New Year’s Day, January 1.
Police identified the victim as Romulo Espenido, 76.
Police Lt. Marion Vincent Buenaflor, deputy police chief of Talisay City Police Station, said the suspect 33-year-old Julius Roy complained to his father that he was feeling unwell.
Espenido then massaged his son to make him feel better. But, the suspect suddenly choked his father, and reportedly hit his head with a stone that caused his instantaneous death, Buenaflor said.
Buenaflor said that according to their family, Espenido and his son had no previous arguments or conflict that could trigger the suspect to commit the crime.
Buenaflor said the suspect, who was hiding at the back of their house, was uneasy when police arrested him, adding that he was somehow not in his right state of mind.
