ICYMI: Catriona Gray wore an eclipse-inspired terno at the ‘Supermodel Me’ finale

A contemporary spin on the classic

What is it about the moon and beauty queens these days? First, Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez presented the mythical Bakunawa, moon-eating dragon, with her national costume. The following week, Miss World Philippines 2021 followed suit with her costume inspired by Mayari, a Filipino moon goddess. This time, former Miss Universe Catriona Gray demonstrates an edgy and contemporary take on the moon with her ensemble at the finale of the sixth season of the Asian reality show “Supermodel Me.”

Curated by her OG stylist Justine Aliman, the “Love Language” singer dons a modern terno look by Filipino designer Jaggy Glarino. Dubbed “Eklipse,” the structured piece took the butterfly-sleeved ensemble to another level with its play on silhouette courtesy of the exaggerated lapels and peplum. Its black and white graphic almost tie-dye-like print adds to the piece’s modernity and represents the astronomical event well.

Catriona finished the look by wearing custom Nereku strappy open-toe leather heels with chevron details. “One of my favorite looks this year,” she commented on Justine’s post.

This is not the first time Jaggy and Catriona had one special style moment. Last July 2021, the NCCA ambassadress wore a stunning white gown by the designer while hosting the 57th edition of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
