BGC-Ortigas Center Road Link to reach full completion by September--DPWH
The entire Bonifacio Global City (BGC)-Ortigas Center Road Link Project that connects business hubs in the cities of Pasig and Taguig will be completed this September, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said Thursday, Sept. 9, that they remain "committed to fully complete the entire 1.481-kilometer alignment of BGC-Ortigas Center Road Link Project" this month.
He said the construction of the 565-meter viaduct structure and approach 3 along BGC’s 8th Avenue is "progressing even with delays caused by the complexities of COVID-19 crisis and recent bad weather condition that pose challenges in ground activities."
According to Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, deck slab with parapet and median barrier from Pier 19 to Pier 22 --the viaduct portion from Lawton Avenue and Kalayaan Avenue intersection to BGC-- were completed. Asphalting works and installation of electrical light posts have started.
"Our engineers and construction crews are working straight through night to beat the target full connection from Pasig/Mandaluyong to Kalayaan Bridge in Makati City and Lawton Avenue–Global City Viaduct towards BGC by the end of this month," Sadain said.
Once the Lawton Avenue to the Global City Viaduct with the ramp at 8th Avenue is fully completed, it will provide direct connectivity between the business districts of Ortigas and Bonifacio Global City.
The entire BGC-Ortigas Road Link Project includes the Kalayaan Bridge, which was opened in June 2021, and road improvements on Brixton and Fairlane Streets, and the Lawton Avenue–Global City Viaduct. It is expected to reduce the usual one-hour travel time between BGC and Ortigas Center to only 12 minutes.
